Senior Kate Burns led the Regent team to a second place finish overall at the CIF-Southern Section Cross Country Prelims for Division 5, in the morning of Friday, November 15. Kate Burns finished first in Heat 2 with a finish time of 20:05.5.
Our Regents ran a great team race, with Burns taking the lead shortly after the first mile marker and never looking back. Regents Sophomore Tiegan Carroll, Senior Brooklyn Baylor, and Freshman Ryan Loud paced themselves throughout the 3 mile run to finish in the top 25 and achieve great score placements. Junior Sophia DiCesare, Sophomore Valerie Avila, and Senior Alexiz Gonzales rounded out the Regent team and supported scoring for the overall second place team finish.
This team competes next on Saturday, November 23, at CIF Finals at Mt. Sac with a start time of 9:45 a.m. Please come out and support our REGENTS!
