Welcome Ms. M to our English and VAPA departments!

MS. M

Ms. Angela Mastantuono was born and raised in California with an Italian ancestry, which she prides herself in keeping her dad's legacy alive. Although education is her passion, it was not the road she had intended for herself. She received her B.A. from California State University of Northridge through the Music Department in hopes of pursuing a career in musical theatre. As with all things, the Lord had different plans and she unexpectedly began teaching private voice and piano lessons, to which she fell in love with teaching. She changed career paths and began her teaching journey at St. Charles Borromeo in North Hollywood as a music and English teacher. She remained there for next eight years, but realized her passion for working with high school students, especially young women and accepted a position at San Gabriel Mission High School as the English Department Chair, and later served in the Dean of Students and Activities Director roles.

For the past six years, Angela has served as principal in the Los Angeles Archdiocese- five years at Saint Anthony Elementary School in San Gabriel and one year at Serra High School in Gardena. Although she loves Catholic school leadership, she has decided to return to the classroom and fulfill her passion for all-girls education. She feels extremely blessed to be a part of the Regent community at St. Lucy's and has enjoyed meeting the wonderful, intellectual, and beyond kind and compassionate young ladies, as well as the faculty and staff.

In her free time, she loves attending concerts and listening to live music, as this is her greatest passion. You can always ask her what concert she has recently attended! She also enjoys cooking and baking and can make a mean homemade pasta sauce. She loves paint nights and has a collection of pieces in her house. Traveling to Puerto Vallarta has become a yearly vacation tradition with her friends. Sushi and street tacos are her most favorite foods and she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her new nephew, Niko!
