| The children in the Square room are older fours turning five by June and the summer months. | ||
 |

| The curriculum for these children is planned so as to develop the skills necessary for them to function comfortably upon their entrance into Kindergarten. It includes activities that promote social skills, physical skills, intellectual development and spiritual development. These are all presented in a learning and play environment that encourages creativity. | ||
 |

| Learning for children at this stage of development takes place through hands-on Materials and activities. The classroom is set up to allow the children to become involved in various types of play. Each child is given the opportunity of working both one on one with the teachers and in small group sessions. Language art skills are promoted through circle time sharing, telling stories, listening to stories and journal writing. Math, Science , Computer and Creative arts skills are all fostered through hands-on activities, games, and arts and crafts. |

| Religion is an important component in the life of the preschool child. Prayers that are age appropriate are taught through daily use. Children are introduced to the person of Jesus as friend and someone whose love is always with them. The use of a children’s Bible with appropriate pictures and stories along with music and religious songs are all aids for the teaching of spiritual values. The child learns that God is the Creator of all and learns a reverence for all of creation; people, animals, plants, trees and the importance of caring for our earth. The childen participate in activities and programs that bring them to an awareness of celebration of the life of Jesus when he was here on earth. |
