Philosophy and Goals
Established in 1991, St. Lucy's Benedictine Child Development Center welcomes all ethnic groups. The Center is designed to help each child grow to his/her potential in a learning and caring environment. For most children it is a first experience and the purpose is to make this new part of his/her life as exciting and rich as possible.
A primary goal for each child age 2 through 5 is to be happy and to gain a positive self-image. Child development takes place in an atmosphere fostering creativity and intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth. The program is guided by Catholic principles.
Curriculum
Participation in language arts, science, creative art, music and special rhythm and movement classes are provided as well as structured and free play activities for physical and social development.
Children are encouraged to experience the world around them, and to develop independence.
